THE SPACE

Welcoming the first greet with our guests upon arrival or have self check in it’s all your decision, we are always wanting to listen for improvements and giving the much unknown, exciting and possible adventures that await you in our beautiful community and Island.

We are a BnB where you do both yourself (wink wink). Housekeeping team will supply you with waffles and maker to make your breakfast to enjoy also Supplied is coffee/tea/hot chocolate, bottled water. Propane for gas fire table on the deck and propane for the BBQ, firewood to enjoy a memorable time around the fire pit. water toys Kayaks/paddle boards/peddle boats/life jackets.

The wharf and beach is for everyone on property use. EACH COTTAGE BOASTS A private HOTTUB

We live on site in a separate home on the property. We respect your privacy and space during your stay but Always available!

GUEST ACCESS

This property is 1 acre of pure wildness bliss... we have a second cottage (upper cottage)also on the property which is beautiful and private so maybe a family gathering. Rent both and enjoy a family gathering

Interaction with GUESTS

We live on the property so always happy to do a meet and greet upon arrival and we are right onsite for any issues or needs. Please make sure you have read and understand the water safety liability waiver before completing reservation.

PETS

We are animal lovers so yes your furbaby (dogs/cat)are welcome with the exception that YOU pick up your poop and NO FURBABYS EVER ON furniture, beds, Chairs, couches! NEVER EVER LEAVE YOUR PET UNATTENDED this means no locking up in cottage while you go enjoy somewhere else THIS IS NOT OKAY !!!!! Pets panic/anxiety (believe me we hear it)and do severe damage !!!!!! Any damages by your fur baby you will be held responsible and it will be costly $$$$$$$$ It is 100% YOUR responsibility as the pet owner to be responsible!

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Welcome to the small town of Youbou. The lakeside community of Youbou sits on the north shore of Cowichan Lake in Vancouver Island’s Cowichan Valley. “The Big Lake”, as Cowichan Lake is known by its native inhabitants, is over 30 km long, and one of the largest bodies of fresh water on Vancouver Island. ,Cowichan Lake is British Columbia's second-most pristine lake and Cowichan River is designated as a Heritage River. Today, features of the former mill town and second-largest community on Cowichan Lake, include a public beach at Arbutus Park and extensive recreational opportunities, including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing, and hiking. Other communities around Cowichan Lake include Alder Bay, Caycuse, Honeymoon Bay, Mesachie Lake, and Lake Cowichan.

GETTING AROUND

Youbou is located on the north shore of Cowichan Lake in the Cowichan Valley, 24 miles (38 km) west of Duncan and a 25-minute drive west of the community of Lake Cowichan. Youbou is accessed via Highway 18, a 26-mile (42-km) paved highway connecting the town of Duncan on the east coast of Vancouver Island with the community of Youbou.

Arbutus Park is a peaceful park set in wonderful Arbutus trees. The half-hectare waterfront park offers a playground, a large sandy beach, and the Big Pool, a system of docks that creates a warm and protected freshwater pool for safe swimming. Amenities include a diving board, a slide from the dock, step ladders from the water, a bike lock-up, a first-aid building, and lifeguards on duty during the summer season.

Hiking is popular on Bald Mountain at Marble Bay. The trails are all well marked, and accessed via North Shore Road, Meade Creek Road, and Marble Bay Road.
